I am a 63 year old German-Jews. I had owned a nicelittler shop in Germany. Soon after, I was taken away by the Nazi up rise andbrought to a camp called Auschwitz. On my way there, I saw a lot of other Jewsand non Jews. Once I got off, I was being screamed at right away. I was told toput down my luggage and walk to the line next to a gate. When I got to thegate, I saw a family. The family had 4 kids, 2 seniors and 3 mid-aged adults. The kids didn’t look Jewish, they look Polish with their blond hair and blueeyes. Once we passed through the gates, I once again heard mans barking at ussaying, “Arbeit macht frei.” This is when I saw one of the girls starting tocry. I went up to the family and told the senior lady, who I assume was theGrandma.

“Hey, I think it’s best if you keep your child quiet,” I said.

“I know I know. She’s my grandchild and she is very scared. We are tryingour best to stop her!” She said with her tear filled eyes.

“Alright let me help you out. I, too, have a grandchild at home and what Ido to calm them down is offer him a piece of goody.” I took out a chocolate barthat I had kept on me since I got on the train to this lady.

“Thank you. Thank you. I’ll repay you this favor once we get out of thishell hole!”

As soon as I gave the lady the candy, I heard a big crackling sound. Itstartled me and I turn around o see what happened. The crying stopped. All Isee was a body being flung over to the side. A closer look and I saw it wasthis lady’s grandchild. I was shocked, unable to move. Next thing you know, thegrandma passes out and, I’m guessing, the mother starts to yell and scream andcry all at once into her husband’s arms. Than I heard another order beingbarked by the soldiers, placing all the children in a small area at a smalldistance away. I stared, not knowing whats going on. A few seconds later, Iheard the crackling of guns and right in front pf me, the kids that I wasstarring at started to fall one by one. Once the crackling stopped, I saw thesibling of the child that was kneed in the face under the dead body of otherchildrens.     All the parents screamed, yelled, cursed, andcried. At that very instant, the grandpa launch into the dead kids pile. Withinseconds, the grandpa was shot down too. Seeing all these dead bodies before mewas my worst nightmare coming true. Now I wonder what will happen to me. I wasshook out of shock when a Nazi shoved me with his gun telling me to move tothis other line going towards a pillar. When the pillar finally came into view,I saw it more clearly. It wasn’t a pillar. It was a chimney. When I was broughtin their, all I saw was rows and rows of ovens being operated by Jews who wasbeing chained down with a Nazi behind them. I thought I was going to be one ofthem. The soldier once again shoved me toward a oven, I thought I was going tobe chained down too, but instead he said something to the man standing next tothe oven. That guy said one word to me and only one word, “Sorry.” Right afterthat word, I was lifted off my foot and thrown into thisoven.
