It’s A Crisis!
So, y’know, the earthquake in Japan was pretty insane. Given the fact that Iwasn’t there to witness it, I’m more or less just saying stuff. Anyway, theearthquake was indeed powerful. On terms of a Richter scale, the earthquake hada magnitude of 9.0, the strongest earthquake in Japan since 1707. The police departmentof the Tohoku district have confirmed 8000+ deaths. If you’re a nerd, like me, you’d knowthat it’s like a whisper from Blackbolt. Adding on to Blackbolt’s whisper, thefollowing tsunami completely screwed whatever was left from the earthquake. Alive stream from the NHK on the 13th of March revealed that the tsunami inJapan reached a height of 30 feet (in metric terms, that’s around 9 meters),and moved at the speed of a jet liner. Atcruising speed, that’s an easy 550 mph. Miyagi prefecture, after thetsunami, had 1000 corpses wash up on a beach and 1000 more in Minamisanrikucity. That’s 2000 people gone within three days. The troubles do not endthere. Shinmoedake, a Japanese volcano that’s been active since Januaryerupted again a day after the earthquake, forcing many people toevacuate the Kagoshima area in an already difficult time for Japan. Mothernature seems rather upset. She’s more or less smacking Japan aroundgeologically and hydrologically. In other news, Shin Nohara, the comedicprotagonist of Shin-Chan and Haruhi Suzumiya, the main character of the animeTheMelancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, are missing. I find this rather rage inducing.
